How to make a fantastic Party Banner!

Hi All...Rabbit here...
We are celebrating a birthday this weekend and thought we would share some pictures of the party banners that we made for the event.
The first banner is made from raw canvas and hand painted with black acrylic paint. I drew the letters free hand...but if your not that adventurous... just enlarge letters on your computer...cut them out...trace around and voila!
We sewed a simple flap over the back and hung the letters from a jute rope.
A really fun project and you can use any font that you like!

For the smaller striped banner...you can recycle old fabrics that you have lying around the house. We used striped fabric we bought ages ago at IKEA and raw canvas. For an extra handmade touch, we stenciled leaves on the canvas using apple green acrylic paint. The ribbon was a lovely grosgrain printed with little birds that we found at Michaels. After we finished all the triangles of fabric, we ran them through the sewing machine. The different fabrics create a more eclectic look and its a great chance to recycle left over bits that you have saved for the next project. I know I can't throw away scraps and this worked perfectly!
And remember we will have a selection of banners for sale at our Open-Air Market in August...stayed tuned for details!
Happy Weekend Everyone!
