Construction Zone!

These leafy little fellows are destined to be a very unique
pair of earings!  (felted wool)
So many projects, so little time!  It seems that with all of the excitement of life we have managed to start a great many projects but finish relatively few!  Nevertheless, we thought you'd like to see what we've been working on.  Here we go!

Felted Bangles!  (recycled wool, soya-silk,
and found buttons)
A perfect pear?  Chick and Pear in a recycled frame!
Shadow boxes!  Painted with hand carved stamps and outlined in enamel, these will eventually hold little dioramas!

Remember to visit us at our Open-Air Craft Market this coming August!

Candle Holders DIY style!

If you have extra glasses, bowls, or dishes of any type lying around there are so many DIY projects you can do with them!  In honour of summer nights spent sitting outside, sipping cool drinks on patios I decided to make some fun and colourful candle holders!  All you need is electrical tape (painter's tape may also work), paint (spray or otherwise) that will bond to glass, a sealer for the finished product, and LOTS of newspaper to prevent your ... well... EVERYTHING from getting covered!

A single blue petal:  This would look lovely
filled with water and a votive candle

Fill this watermellon inspired holder with pink sand
before adding your candle!

Two-toned glass: For the person who just can't decide!

Tape up the design you want on the glassware--make sure all the spaces you want to remain clear are well covered!  LIGHTLY apply paint, layer by layer, waiting for each layer to dry before applying the next.  When you have the desired colour saturation, stop and allow to fully dry before peeling away the tape!

These and so much more will be available at our upcoming Open-Air Market, August 18th!  See the Official Poster for more details! xx

Running Rabbits and Squirrels...Oh My! New Paintings!

I just finished a couple of new paintings that I thought I would share...They are a mixture of acyrlic paint on canvas board with paper collage. The first is titled "Running Rabbit", I have always loved the look of a field of dandelions and this rabbit is on his way somewhere fast...therefore explaining the need for goggles...
On our property, we are surrounded by a very large squirrel population...thus I was inspired to create "Portrait of a Young Squirrel" ...

Pillows and Pizza!

Decorative appliquées for the tops of some hand-sewn floor and throw cushions were the order of the day-- the set is done so I thought I would throw up a few pics to tempt you to come on out to the Open Air Market on August 18th!

All that crochetting got me hungry so I decided to make some tasty pizza for dinner!  Pan-fried garlic and portabello mushrooms, carmelized onions, market-fresh tomatoes and Daiya Mozarella Shreds on my new and improved Vegan and GF pizza crust!  (Check out the facebook page for the new recipe if you want to know how to make it at home xx Share and share, alike!)
